A Says You! Live Community Benefit

Says You! presents “Quips on the Quimper” as we return to “The City of Dreams.” For nearly a decade, Says You! has headed to Port Townsend to play our game with a purpose — a community show to benefit the Jefferson Clemente Course, a free college humanities course for low-income adults. Join regular cast members Carolyn Fay Fox, Murray Horowitz, Barry Nolan and Seattle’s own Gregg Porter, as well as our local hall of fame punsters for a night of ridiculous clues, verbal repartee, and bold face blunders as the cast attempts to decipher the English language.

This Week’s Guest: Christy McBrayer

This week Christy McBrayer joins the cast in a new episode (SY 2115). For those of you who recollect Dagmar from 1950’s television – Christy brings that same enticing charm to the show recorded recently in the Boston area. A native of Lee County – yep, that’s Tupelo, Mississippi – Christy is an actress with a one-woman show, Southern Fried Chickie, – the comedic Christy releases to the audience fourteen women who reside inside. During the day she Directs Business Development for the Brass Tacks Consulting firm in Austin, Texas. Miss McBrayer brings a mean brogue, recites classic poetry, and dances in the hottest cowgirl boots around – just keep an eye out for the spurs.

New Lad at the Lectern

This week we honor the mighty pen, the gentle wit and giant heart of our writer Dave Zobel.  Listen in as he steps up to the lectern to host the show in Indiana.  Dave is a self-styled “science humorist” — his latest book The Science of TV’s The Big Bang Theory uses sitcom dialogue as a transparent excuse to get all giddy and frothy-at-the-mouth about science. He joined Says You! after a seven year stint as a writer for public radio’s The Loh Down on Science. Dave has been far more than a writer for Says You! over the past year – a man of immense and invaluable talents – associate producer, editor, stage manager, archivist, now guest host, and always an immense joy for all of us to be with on every “Says You! outward bound.”
