We have dozens of categories to pique your curiosity: ‘Cryptic Puns,’ ‘Definitions and Derivations,’ ‘What’s the Difference’ and ‘Odd Man Out,’ to name a few. And at the core of the game – our bluffing rounds. Here, three definitions are given for a mystery word, only one of which is the actual meaning. Think you can determine who’s bluffing? Try it and see if you can out-think our panelists.
Welcome to Says You!
…public radio’s quintessential quiz show, aired weekly from coast to coast. Undeniably the warmest, wittiest cocktail party you’ll ever enjoy, whether there’s bubbly in your glass or in your personality. It’s spirited and civil, brainy and boisterous, with bon mots and badinage aplenty, peppered with musical interludes. If you could play badminton with words, it would sound much like Says You! Fast paced and playful, it’s the most fun you can have with language without getting your mouth washed out with soap.
Take one word, add two teams, create three definitions and throw in a live audience. And, that’s Says You! – the last word in radio quiz shows since 1996. If you’re new to the show, join our panelists as our host challenges them with the most interesting and difficult questions you’re likely to hear on the airwaves. Curious listeners know our motto: It’s not important to know the answers…it’s important to like the answers.
“Hardest game show – tv or radio – ever!” Listener – Dan Murphy, March 18, 2017
“Parties for smarties…Wit makes a comeback.” Time Magazine
“An enterprise I much admire!” Bill McKibben, Author
There are lots of ways to play the game. You can listen live – each week – on a public radio station near you or stream it online from a station that isn’t! You can download any show in our history. You can browse a volume or two of Scripts and Quips of Says You! And you can even become part of the show by contributing a question. That is…if you think you’ve got a good one.
Says You! is friends having fun…a parlor game with the most clever and gentle folks around. Don’t take our word for it – have a listen HERE. Then join us on the radio. Oh…and don’t forget to grab a pen and some paper. That’s how we do it here.
